INTRODUCTION
Excessive and compulsive work fails to elicit the same judgment as other addictions. In fact, extended
work involvement is often supported by our culture (Porter 2001), applauded by the society (Porter
1996), and valued positively by the employers.
However, workaholism seriously impairs the functioning at the workplace both at short as well
