The Role of Employees in Responsible Management

Responsibility is one of the fundamental postulates of business ethics. In the corporate context, it implies that companies and its members deliberately declare themselves responsible for their actions and defaults and their consequences and that they strive to behave according to their assumed responsibility on the basis of ethical reflections and moral rules (Göbel 2006, p. 104). Responsible management, then, refers to incorporating responsibility into aspects of management, thus fomenting responsible behavior and decisions of employees at all levels of business.
