Setting up a hybrid cloud environment

In Chapter 1, Introducing Hybrid Clouds, we discussed the concept of the hybrid cloud. To recap, a hybrid cloud is a combination of a public and a private cloud connection, using a secure network.

The following steps must be carried out to set up a hybrid cloud environment:

  1. Choose the public cloud provider and set up the cloud account (for example, AWS, Azure, and so on).
  2. Install and configure your private cloud environment (for example, OpenStack).
  3. Establish a connection between the public and private cloud using a VPN by creating a gateway and setting up networking and routing configurations.
