Rehosting is a process of migrating the entire operating system that hosts the application. For example, if you have an Oracle E-Business Suite application running on your Red Hat Linux operating system in the local data center, you may choose to migrate the entire operating system to the cloud. AWS provides a way to do this using the AWS VM Import/Export feature. (We will discuss importing and exporting a VM to and from AWS in the next section.)
