Lack of encryption

When an organization starts using the hybrid cloud platform, the internal data travels to and from the public and private cloud environments. Sensitive data that travels out of the private cloud to the public cloud is susceptible to attacks and hence must be protected. Encryption is the process of transforming the data into an encoded format that is unreadable by unauthorized entities. Many cloud providers offer encryption services and also provide keys to decrypt the data.

It is a good practice to store the decryption keys away from the cloud where the data is stored.

The following techniques can be used to protect the data.
