Summary

In this chapter, we introduced you to the basics of the AWS public cloud. We created an AWS account and discussed the various features of AWS. We also launched an EC2 instance, and created an EBS volume and an S3 bucket. We discussed different methods to upload and download files to and from the S3 bucket. Finally, we explored the virtual private cloud along with different scenarios in which it can be implemented.

In the next chapter, we will explore an open source private cloud platform called OpenStack.
