Network design for the enterprise
In this chapter we consider the various tiers in the enterprise and identify IBM Ethernet products best suited to each tier. We propose a series of architectural decisions for each tier, assisting the architect in selecting the best product for their customer requirements.
We focus on the current industry standards in enterprise network, or campus network, design. However, the architectural decisions can also assist architects in designing new enterprise networks of the future.
