Chapter 3. Lotus Connections Architecture

Lotus Connections follows a consistent multitiered architecture across all of its services. This statement holds true both from a physical deployment topology and in regard to its service-oriented architecture. The former provides a loose coupling between physical layers, enabling the flexibility necessary in large-scale deployments to make independent decisions with regard to platform, hardware, and security zones.
