International Technical Support Organization, Poughkeepsie Center.
Karen Orlando is a Project Leader at the International Technical Support Organization,
Tucson, Arizona Center. Karen has over 25 years in the IT industry with extensive experience
in open systems, and information and software development of IBM hardware and software
storage. She holds a degree in Business Information Systems from the University of Phoenix
and is Project Management Professional (PMP) certified since 2005.
Mathias Defiebre is a Lab Services IT Specialist from Germany. He joined IBM in 1998 and
has worked extensively with storage products. He graduated from the University of
Cooperative Education Mannheim with a German Diploma in Information Technology
Management and a Bachelor of Science degree. His areas of expertise include developing
and delivering services for IBM TS76xx ProtecTIER deduplication products, IBM Tivoli®
Storage Manager integration, and healthcheck solutions. Mathias also conducts proof of
concepts, workshops, and benchmarks with a focus on data protection. He is an IBM Certified
Specialist for TotalStorage Networking and Virtualization Architectures. Mathias previously
co-authored multiple versions of IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center IBM Redbooks
publications.
Adriana Pellegrini Furnielis is an IBM Certified IT Specialist in the storage discipline and
has more than 15 years of experience in IT. Adriana has worked in the STG Lab Services and
Training organization in Brazil since 2008, providing implementations, technical
assessments, pre-sales support, consulting services, and training for storage products for
Latin American customers. Adriana holds a Bachelor’s degree and post-graduation work in
System Analysis. She is a Master Certified IT Specialist certified by the Open Group and a
member of the Americas IBM IT Specialist Certification Board. Adriana is also a member of
the Steering Committee from the Brazil Technical Leadership Council. She has extensive
experience with ProtecTIER. Since 2009, Adriana has performed implementation,
configuration, consulting, and troubleshooting for all the IBM TS7600 family
(Appliances/Gateway/Express). Her areas of expertise include the IBM TS7600 ProtecTIER
family, IBM XIV® Storage Systems, IBM Information Archive, Scale Out Network Attached
Storage, IBM SAN Volume Controller, Tivoli Storage Productivity Center, IBM Tivoli Key
Lifecycle Manager, and Tivoli Storage Manager. She is one of the authors of IBM System
Storage TS7600 with ProtecTIER Version 3.1, SG24-7968-00.
Jane Lau is an Advanced Technical Skill IT specialist in IBM Growth Market who is focused
on Data ProtecTIER and Retention solutions. Her primary competencies include solution
architecture, support of sales activity in competitive opportunities, and providing training for
technical sales teams and delivery teams. Jane has extensive experience in the storage
industry. She joined IBM in 2009. Before working at IBM, she worked as a system integrator
providing technical consulting for data protection software and hardware.
Libor Miklas is an IT Architect and experienced IT Specialist working at the IBM Integrated
Delivery Center in the Czech Republic. He has ten years of practical experience within the IT
industry. During the last six years, his main focus has been on backup and recovery and on
storage management. Libor and his team design, implement, and support midrange and
enterprise storage environments for various global and local clients, worldwide. He is an IBM
Certified Deployment Professional of the Tivoli Storage Manager family of products and holds
a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications.
