Chapter 3. Basic Content Elements

This chapter focuses primarily on the UMA elements that describe the schema elements for the static aspects of a process. These schema elements include artifacts, roles, tasks, and guidelines, to name a few. The elements are usually defined in human languages such as English.

Content revolves around the concept of tasks (with or without steps) that roles perform. Starting a task often requires input, and the result of a task is often output. These inputs and outputs are called work products. If a role requires help, or a task or work product requires more details, you can associate guidance elements to clarify.
