Note that the lssess command in Example 5-64 on page 274 is issued twice and utilizes
again different output formats.
This concludes the CSMCLI considerations when building up a Metro Mirror session.
5.4.14 Managing FlashCopy with the GUI
Figure 5-265 shows the expansion of Figure 5-264 on page 270. Metro Mirror secondary
volumes or Site 2 volumes in LSS A0 are now FlashCopy source volumes. Corresponding
FlashCopy target volumes are in LSS 7C.
A FlashCopy may make sense after a planned or unplanned FREEZE event for the Metro
Mirror session to create a copy of the Metro Mirror secondary volumes before the Metro
Mirror session is re-started to re-synchronize the Metro Mirror session.

Figure 5-269 Results panel displays that session was successfully created
Figure 5-269 shows that the session FC2 was successfully created. Note that this is just a
name or token which goes into the TPC for Replication database. Clicking on Finish in
Figure 5-269 brings you back to the sessions overview panel as shown in Figure 5-270 on
page 278. This overview again indicates that the session is still empty and waits to be
populated with corresponding Copy Sets.

The next step is to populate a FlashCopy session with Copy Sets. Note that we are back to
FlashCopy session FC1 which is going to be used later in this scenario when populating the
FlashCopy session with Copy Sets.
Figure 5-271 Select FlashCopy session
In Figure 5-271 we selected the FlashCopy session FC1 and then continue to select the
corresponding action.
Chapter 5. Using TotalStorage Productivity Center for Replication on Windows 2003 279
Figure 5-272 Select Add Copy Sets for FlashCopy session FC1
We select Add Copy Sets as Figure 5-272 shows which opens the Add Copy Sets wizard with
