Chapter 10. CMP and Advanced EJB Settings

In the last chapter, we provided an introduction to Enterprise JavaBeans and learned how to deploy EJB applications in WebSphere Application Server (WAS). In this chapter, we are going to focus on Container Managed Persistence (CMP) Entity Beans. First, we will discuss some basic CMP concepts. Then we will discuss the WebSphere Persistence Manager. We will then address some advanced EJB settings that can enhance performance, usually for CMP Beans, but sometimes for Session Beans as well. Finally, a new version of the Personal Trade System will be deployed.
