WebSphere Persistence Architecture

The WebSphere persistence manager exists for the purpose of supporting the CMP model. The persistence manager interacts with the runtime-generated concrete CMP bean instances to implement the abstract schema and persist the data to the actual data store. The WebSphere Persistence Manager provides a layer of abstraction between the underlying resource such as a JDBC driver and the concrete bean implementation. The concrete bean is the actual persistent class that is generated when running the EJB Deploy Generation tool.
