Operations Model Integration
The WebSphere z/OS server supports the UNIX operational commands, such as startServer.sh and stopServer.sh. However, z/OS operations commonly are performed through the z/OS Operations Interfaces, which include the z/OS Operator Console, System Command Interface (MGRE), and Write-to-Operator (WTO).
System START and STOP commands are used to control the server life cycle. Starting and stopping a WebSphere z/OS server through the z/OS Operations Interfaces is done with these commands. These command strings are stored in the server's process definitions for use by other operational facilities.
