DFSMSdss setup and use
This chapter describes the updates that are provided for DFSMSdss to support the cloud tier.
6.1 Cloud support in DFSMSdss
Today, DFSMSdss allows users and applications to back up data sets from one set of primary DASD to a sequential data set on DASD or tape. This support enables users and applications to logically back up SMS-managed and non-SMS managed data sets from a set of primary DASD to a cloud by using the DUMP command.
