Chapter 22. Brushes

In this chapter, you’ll learn how to use the Paintbrush tool; embellish path edges with Calligraphic, Scatter, and Art brushes; create and edit custom brushes; modify existing brush strokes; remove brush strokes from existing paths; create and access brush libraries; and add, duplicate, and delete brushes from the Brushes panel.

Using brushes

Illustrator’s brushes let you draw variable, freehand brush strokes or apply a texture, pattern, or shapes to a path with all the advantages of vector graphics—small file sizes, resizability, and crisp output.
