Chapter 30. Print
Although Illustrator objects are described and stored as mathematical commands, when printed, they’re rendered as dots. The higher the resolution of the output device, the more smoothly and sharply the lines, curves, gradients, and continuous-tone images in your artwork are rendered. In this chapter you’ll learn how to print a document on a black-and-white or composite color printer; tile an oversized document; specify bleeds and printer’s marks; prepare a file for color separations; choose flatness settings; download fonts; print using color management; choose overprint options; create and edit presets; create crop marks; choose a resolution for effects; and use the Document Info panel.
