10.1 Introduction
Glaucoma is a dreaded eye disease wherein the optic nerve is incrementally damaged. The
instruments for diagnosis of glaucoma reviewed in this chapter can be broadly catego-
rized into primarily mechanics-based and primarily optics-based instruments.
10.2 Mechanics-Based Instruments
Tonometry is the only mechanics-based glaucoma detection procedure. The following
sub-sections review the various types of tonometry instruments employed in practice.
