Perception of color is the inherent ability of the human visual system (HVS). Although color vision is subjective, and it cannot be fully explained with the results from theoretical research and practice, much knowledge about the physical nature of color has already been gathered. For example, a lot of attributes of color vision, such as wavelength resolution, color saturation, its relationship with brightness, and the rules of color mixing, have been clearly known. On the other hand, with the progress of technology in recent years, many devices for color image acquisition and processing are widely spread and used in a large number of applications.
