Why do you make pictures?

I make pictures in exchange for money—it’s what pays my bills. However, I also make pictures because there are images stuck in my head and if I don’t take them out, it feels like not scratching when it really itches. I can ignore it only for so long before my brain goes back to it, with more intensity, and drives me crazy.

When it’s my commercial work, I’m solving my client’s communication problems, and I want to make sure the viewer will perceive whatever my client needs them to perceive.
