Chapter 8. Importing Footage
Whatever the source of your video—DV or HDV camcorder, digital still camera with a video recording feature, DVD, an iSight camera, or just movie files on your hard drive—it’s easy to bring the footage you shot into iMovie for editing.
iMovie ’08 now organizes everything in Events, which means you no longer need to remember where your iMovie projects are located. All your footage appears in iMovie’s Event Browser for use with any project.
Importing Clips
Getting video footage into iMovie is a snap: connect your digital camcorder to your Mac via FireWire or USB, and start importing. Your only practical limitation is space on your hard drive—make sure you have plenty.
