GLBP

Gateway Load Balancing Protocol (GLBP) is the third protocol that provides first hop redundancy for the gateway router. In HSRP and VRRP, the load balancing can happen for different VLANs or some hosts on the same network using manual configuration of defining separate default gateways on a set of hosts, as described earlier in the VRRP section. GLBP achieves this load sharing between different hosts on the same subnet automatically. GLBP provides load balancing over multiple gateways using a single virtual IP address and multiple virtual MAC addresses.
