Network management planning

The goal of network management is to ensure that services are delivered to the users of the network with the quality of service that the network is designed to deliver. The 'quality of service' needs to be differentiated from the network quality of service that we discussed in Chapter 9, Understanding and Configuring Quality of Service. The quality of service from a service perspective will be broader than the network QoS and will include service parameters, such as service uptime, service delivery parameters, and resolution time, in addition to the network delivered parameters with respect to packet loss, latency, and jitter that impact the user application experience.
