Network behavioral analysis

Network behavioral analysis is a technology used to provide indications of any security violations on the network by looking at the traffic flows. Netflow is a protocol that is defined in the IETF standards as RFC 3954, among others, that sends the metadata of all traffic that is traversing the device.

The device on which Netflow is configured looks at the IP packets that are traversing the device on all interfaces and sends a part of the information known as metadata to a central collector.
