Troubleshooting the first hop connectivity

We discussed the use of first hop redundancy protocols to provide redundancy against the default router on the LAN in Chapter 4, Understanding and Configuring Campus Network Technologies.

Most issues in the protocols appear from the mismatched timers, versions, and passwords, used for authentication between the devices. One can use the various show commands to find out these parameters.
