SNMP polling

SNMP polling provides a mechanism to proactively collect information about a device's MIB variables. The information obtained through an SNMP MIB query is also far more extensive than the information contained in an SNMP trap, as the trap messages represent only a small subset of the information available through the SNMP MIBs.
