Total Productive Maintenance

TPM: Definition

TPM stands for total productive maintenance and is a combination of the following:

1. Preventative maintenance—completing routine tasks at set intervals to prolong the life of the equipment and to prevent breakdowns from happening in the future.

2. Predictive maintenance—performing tasks based upon a historical pattern of breakdown or wear. You can also use a technology solution to predict exactly when the tire is going to go bad.
