Chapter 2. Architecture Fundamentals
Architecture is the characterization of the organization of a system in terms of its constituent parts. It characterizes the physical structure, functional organization, and collaborative behavior of those constituent parts and relates them to the system’s intended purpose. A completed architectural description serves as a reference for the stakeholders—those who charter, fund, design, implement, and utilize the systems—as they strive to ensure that the systems that are realized satisfy the purpose that motivated their construction.
