are used for air conditioning systems, which require only cool air, and
reciprocating compressors, with their shorter leakage lines and greater
compression, are incorporated into refrigerators, which need freezing air.
Of course, rotary compressors can produce very cold air, but the technol-
ogy to do that is highly exacting, which means that there are more critical
to quality (CTQs) than for a reciprocating compressor. Note that, in this
case, it is crucial to nd and manage all the attributes inuencing leakage,
hampering lubrication, and causing wear due to the higher compression
ratio and the longer leak
