Introduction
As its name implies, information governance, or IG, is a comprehensive strategy for managing an enterprise’s people, processes, and technology, with an emphasis on risk, legal compliance, information management, and business intelligence. IG also subsumes a number of disciplines such as e-Discovery, data privacy, big data, architecture, operations, organizational continuity, and audit.
Broadly defined, IG includes the management of information within an organization or enterprise.
