So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Like the paths taken by many of the individuals profiled in this book, our journey was not a linear one. It was filled with many interesting twists and turns, a few disappointments and frustrations, many difficult yet exciting challenges, and some incredible “aha!” moments. When we began our journey to create a canon of great business leaders in the summer of 2001, we had only a vague notion of the task that lay ahead.
