Defining Zero Trust
In this chapter we will peel back more layers of the onion to get to the core of what Zero Trust is and, more importantly, what it is not. An unconventional but effective approach to learning a concept that could change our perception about a well-established design is to spend time understanding what that concept is not. Over many talks and discussions with colleagues, I have noticed that changing a presumption about a subject is almost impossible because every corner of the conversation ends up with one of us telling the other “that’s not true” or “that’s not it.” Approaching the discussion by prefacing it with “what it is not” helps strengthen the perception of the concept being discussed.
