The best advice I would give to CEOs is to have a mindset of openness and curiosity. It is one thing being uncomfortable with the topic, but the most important thing is what are you going to do about it? Take the time to educate yourself and jump into topics you don't understand. The willingness to learn and to take tangible action sends out a strong message to the wider organisation that can be a catalyst for progress.

This book is here to help demystify the path to Inclusive Leadership. Even the most committed may become overwhelmed by the lack of a clear direction, which causes inertia to set in and stymies progress. To not begin the journey in the first place out of frustration or confusion is the greater tragedy; so, our advice is simply, take a step forward. And do it again. And again. And again.
To set you up for success, it is important to know where you are starting, where you need to go, and how far you need to travel. It is useful along the way to have landmarks to ensure you are moving in the right direction, a map of progress for your DEIB journey. But no matter how accurate the map is at a point in time, it cannot capture every detail, nuance, and data point—it can only indicate the direction of travel.
