Foreword

Throughout my life I have experienced first-hand, the significance of seeing a spark of talent in someone and nurturing it, regardless of the individual’s education or background, their gender, ethnicity or in fact any other factors that make up who they are.

I started my life in a community in West Yorkshire in the United Kingdom, where it would have been easy to get on to the wrong track and have a very different life experience to the one I’ve had. What changed that for me was the encouragement of my teachers and family who saw potential in me that could be developed further.
