Chapter 12. Libraries

As you work on your layout, you may find yourself using the same objects throughout a document. For instance, if you’re working on a magazine, you might want to have a series of different-sized frames to hold frequently used ads.

Rather than copying and pasting the frames from one part of the document to another, you can use a library to hold those frames—neatly labeled, sorted, and ready to use at a moment’s notice.

Then, anytime you need an element, you just drag it out of the library onto your page.

InDesign gives you a wide variety of features that help you work with libraries. You can easily add items to a library as well as search and sort through the library entries.
