In many ways, my career started in page layout. I was lucky enough to show up on the doorstep of my college newspaper the very year it switched from old-school paste-up to the new-fangled world of page-layout software. Being comfortable with both computers and journalism, I embraced the new technology, became a page-layout whiz, and now I write about computers and technology for a living.
