Abstract
The chapter deals with advanced process control systems need for such systems in the process control. The history of the process control and then the advanced process control and multiple types of advanced process control techniques were discussed. The advanced process control advantages and disadvantages of various techniques are dealt with in detail. The topology of such systems in the real-time implementation is provided.
