After virtual worlds
Abstract:
The development of virtual worlds through web browser interfaces is only one step in the development of virtual realities. Augmented reality, the pairing of information layers with our perception of actual objects in the Real World, is the next major development. Phones and other personal information devices are becoming platforms for hybrid experiences that combine elements of the virtual and Real. Libraries will have to develop strategies for service in and documentation of augmented reality experiences.
