A conceptual architecture for information literacy practice
Introduction
This chapter will introduce a conceptual architecture for information literacy and present the critical features that contribute to our understanding of how information literacy practice manifests in different contexts. My intention here is to present a number of sensitizing concepts that I hope will encourage researchers and practitioners to reflect on their understanding of information literacy. To think about information literacy holistically, as a socio-cultural practice suggests that we need to focus not only on the skills of information literacy, but also to consider how the practice allows intelligibility and understanding of the information landscape to occur. ...
