Who Molded My TIQM Quality System.
I must acknowledge the mentors who taught me the fundamental principles
and processes of Quality Management that I have sought to faithfully translate
into the principles of Information Quality in the TIQM Quality System for Total
Information Quality Management. They include my first discovery of Quality
Management, Dr. W. Edwards Deming, whom I met first, through Mary Walton’s
book, The Deming Management Method, followed by Deming’s Out of the Crisis
and The New Economics, followed by taking Dr. Deming’s four-day video seminar,
A Four Day Seminar on the Leadership Philosophy of Dr. W. Edwards Deming. I thank
Dr. Joyce Orsini, President of the Deming Institute and founder and Director
of the Deming MBA Scholars Program at Fordham University for her informa-
tive keynote presentations and tutorials at my Information Quality Conferences,
and for allowing me to share with the Deming Scholars how Deming’s System
of Profound Knowledge applies to Information Quality. I also derived much of
my learning from Masaaki Imai, who gave us the concept of Kaizen, Continuous
