Except for my experiences with my wife, Diane, and my two children, Ashley and
Chancellor, the most exhilarating experiences I have had have been those working
with Knowledge Workers who really care about increasing their effectiveness
and value to their organizations by improving their Information Processes.
You do not accomplish a mature IQ culture in one fell swoop. It takes time.
After all, you did not get the broken Information Processes overnight. They
evolved over time purely as the result of the status quo of designing processes
without considering the causes of defective information.
If you have read the major parts of this book, you understand the problem,
the causes, and the way out of the problems by analyzing and isolating Root
Causes of defects and by proactive Information Process Improvement and Error-
Proofing to prevent recurrence of the defects.
As you go, you will establish the Culture of Continuous Process Improvement
involving everyone and every business area in assessment and Process
Improvement activities. This will be part of your journey in moving people
and the organization to new, higher levels of IQ capability.
