I N THE PREVIOUS SECTION, WE discussed organizational concerns and issues for security, and now we will cover more technical ones. In these next few chapters, we shall try to define terms and build up common technical knowledge so that when we cover security, sufficient technical understanding will have been developed. In other words, some of the materials in this section may not seem obviously connected to information security, but when we cover securing systems and networks, the connections should become more apparent.
