Technical risks are those risks from raw materials, machinery, hardware, or software used in operational activities in given legal contexts. For the audit of information systems, technical risks are information technology (IT) risks and concern the two elements at the bottom of the diagram below: Computers and networks. These two elements are part of what is called IT infrastructure. They are shown in Figure 8.1.
