On-site packaging, validation, and acceptance testing
This section discusses the roadmap approach applied to the on-site software packaging and testing cycle. The system segmentation and release plan relied on determining the optimal set of artifact combinations that maximize migration vendor productivity, testing, change control, production synchronization, and production turnover.
To support the change impact analysis the TSRI off-site team generated a Transformation Blueprint™ for the entire ~2.5 million lines of 4GL and PowerBuilder software. The Transformation Blueprint™ provided input to a roadmap for the entire conversion and follow-on modernization phases, which were still in the planning phase as of this writing.
