The plan

The planning portion of this initiative involved establishing and justifying a roadmap for the first project phase. Much of this was done prior to the beginning of the initial enterprise assessment and incorporated work related to the creation of the high-level financial architecture. The business case and roadmap for phasing out of the 35-year-old Core System are as follows.

The Business Case

The business case was reasonably straightforward and was established in the late 1990s. The processes and rules deployed within and around the Core System were aligned with non-standard accounting practices and, therefore, had to be replaced.
