Maintaining System Interfaces
There were two types of system interfaces to replace or preserve from the existing EOSS-ACM system so as to achieve DITSCAP certification of the modernized EOSS. The first was the user interface, which was provided by user Telnet sessions via remote terminals. The second type was FTP, transferring to and from various external systems.
The User Interface
User terminal interfaces were replaced by Web browser connections. These browser connections can be made within a LAN, through a VPN, from external Internet sites using SSL, or combinations of these modes.
