TSRI's approach to legacy system modernization permits gradual integrated steps within a model-driven modernization methodology. Each step adds to a comprehensive model-based repository of knowledge about the corporate application portfolio and guides subsequent steps in the enterprise application portfolio process. Human hands rarely or never touch the code being modernized. Automation is used whenever practical. Human decision-making is introduced only as necessary to guide automated processes.
