VTS Pilot conclusion, lessons learned, and recommendations
On August 16, 2005, the SAIC and TSRI project team demonstrated conversion of the VTS MUMPS module of the VistA system to senior VA IT leaders[2] in San Diego. This demonstration included the live transformation of several hundred thousand instructions of MUMPS code constituting the VTS and the FILEMAN DB systems into an N-tier Java/J2EE architecture, directly followed by execution of the transformed code as a Web application in the Web server application framework described in the previous section.
