Chapter 6. What Is Organizational Culture?
Research on the impact of culture on organizational behavior has not yielded the results that could be used to develop a theory of organizational culture. Yet it is obvious that culture affects business performance. Academics have published many books, the management gurus have pursued their single-issue proposals, and the consultants have attempted to provide their packaged programs. As we enter the new millennium, we have no theory of organizational culture that applies to all organizations under all circumstances. Human behavior probably does not lend itself to broad generalizations.
