Advanced Solid Modeling Commands

AutoCAD also provides you with three advanced solid modeling commands that can be quite useful:

  • SLICE

  • SECTION

  • INTERFERENCE

The following sections define these advanced commands and take you through exercises designed to show you how you can use each to help build your solid models.

The SLICE Command

The SLICE command is used to divide solid objects on either side of a plane. If, for example, you create a complex model and want to cut it in half, the SLICE command will accomplish the task.

There are five methods you can use to define the slicing, or cutting, plane:
